Upcoming Projects- Summer 2009
I am very excited to announce some new design projects that are coming up for me this summer. In July I will be working on 3 new plays. First I will be lighting Psycho Therapy (under the direction of Michael Bush) followed by Two Hander (under the direction of Wilson Milam), both at the Midtown International Theatre Festival.
After the Midtown International Theatre Festival gets under way I will be starting work on a new one woman show written and performed by Brianne Berkson and directed by Dan Kutner called A Longhardt Look At Love. The show will be performed at the East to Edinburgh Festival at 59E59 in New York in July and then move to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland for a run in August.
In the fall I will be recreating Kevin Adams' lighting design of The 39 Steps for the national tour. We will be stopping off at La Jolla Playhouse, Seattle Rep, and then finally teching the tour in New Haven at the end of October. I am really looking forward to continuing with this amazing piece of theatre and please check it out as it tours across America in the coming months.
Home Sweet Home
Last weekend I Opened a new production of My Way:A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra in Rhode Island and the whole experience was wonderful. The production was great fun with a wonderful group of people. You can check out the pictures of the show in the projects section under musicals.
Summer Time
I am happy to say that the weather is finally breaking in NYC and I think it is looking to be a beautiful summer. I have just finished up a very productive winter and spring that included moving both The 39 Steps and Next to Normal to new Broadway homes as well as collaborating with Kevin Adams on the new revival of Hair. All three projects were amazing opportunities as well as great experiences.
I was also able to continue my own work with a new Off Broadway produciton of the new play Zombie at Theatre Row and a production of Candide at NYU's Steinhardt School of Education. All in all a very productive and exciting period of work.
Next up is a new production of My Way at Theatre by the Sea in Rhode Island. I will try to upload pictures of the show when I get back. I hope you are enjoying the online home of my design work and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Welcome to JESLD.com!
Since my leather portfolio has been gathering dust in the corner of my apartment for the last few years, I am very excited to welcome you to the premier of JESLD.com.
I hope that you will look around and enjoy the various productions represented here as much as I enjoyed working on them.
