This new production of Little Shop of Horrors was presented at the John W. Engeman Theatre in Northport, Long Island. I was brought on to the project by long time friend and collaborator Court Watson. Court always brings a fresh approach and take on works that are new and old and gives the lighting designer a wonderful world to paint with light. The Director's approach was to accentuate the "comic book" world that the residents of Skid Row lived in and how that was affected by the arrival of Audrey 2.

I approached the show with a very naturalistic approach for the top of the show and allowed the comic colors to work their way into the pallette as the show progressed. With each interaction with Audrey 2, the world was influenced with a new touch of color and texture that we hadn't seen before. The world is also treated with a lot of color, texture and broken light reflecting the character of Skid Row that is surrounding and influencing the characters at every turn.
