Summary of Project and Design Approach(PRELIM):

World Goes Round is my first collaboration with Director Dan Kutner. The production was originally produced at the Gettysburg Festival in the summer of 2008 and subsequently moved to the Prince Music Theatre in Philadelphia, PA. The production is a slight reinvention of the song cycle of John Kander and Fred Ebb. Dan worked with John Kander and added a new number from the new musical, The Visit, as well as changing the orchestrations of several numbers.

The Production moved quickly thru many different genres, song styles, and settings. My challenge was to keep the show focused and moving forward while celebrating the range of music of Kander and Ebb. Thru the use of color and texture I was able to focus and change the world of the space into a Park Bench, a dessert fantasy world, a prison cell, and an Upper West Side apartment, just to name a few.
